About Sacramento

Founded in 1849, Sacramento is the oldest incorporated city in California. It became a city thanks to John Sutter, a Swiss immigrant, and James W. Marshall, the man who “started” the California Gold Rush, when he discovered gold in the American River, in California, on January 24, 1848.
